Northern Landings (08 dec 1941)

On 8 december 1941,around 4am,I was one of the people of Singapore.We were awakened by the sounds of explosions.Japanese warplanes had flown over Singapore and bombed the city.Meanwhile,Japanese soldiers also landed in northern Malaya.In less than 70 day,Singapore fell to the Japanese.

Sook Ching is "only" one of the many terrible incidents of the second world war, let alone of the 20th century, but it should not be forgotten.

when I was held by the Japanese armed forces,we were subject to murder, beatings, summary punishment, brutal treatment, forced labor, medical experimentation, starvation rations and poor medical treatment. The most notorious use of forced labor was in the construction of the Burma–Thailand Death Railway.
